Still need an update for the nVidia 8800 on the Mac Pros. It's still slower than the base 2600 in the Apple pro apps.

Yes, Motion, and anything that uses CoreImage, like Imaginator:

Compressor uses CoreImage to render Motion project files. You use Compressor to do a batch of Motion project files instead of one at a time.

Final Cut Pro is using CoreImage more, IIRC.

Aperture is too, isn't it?

I have a 24" iMac (Aug 2007) with a Radeon 2600 card. Yet the Installer tells me I don't need this update. Just exactly which iMac's is this for?

Yeah says I don't need it either on an Alum imac with ati 2400xt.

How about putting the processor type in the headline. There are G3, G4, G5 and Intel iMacs.

I too have an Aluminum iMac with an ATI?s Radeon HD 2600 Pro card and the ROM is 113-B2250F-212 but the installer says I don't need this update, what gives?

Nothing conclusive. Might be an Installer bug. Perhaps Apple will clarify things tomorrow.
