VMware has noted that when it?s available as a final release, it?ll be a free upgrade for registered Fusion 1.x users

WOW!

i have both parallels and fusion... haven't touched parallels since fusion came out and the free upgrade to 2.0 is the icing on the cake. i believe parallels hit me up for $30 or $40 to upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0

Seems to be running fine. Almost got Open Solaris running in it, but not quite.

Not sure if it's just me but upgrading my Windows XP VM is taking forever. I had to turn off debugging mode in the preferences of VMWare but it still seems slow compared to 1.1.

If you buy VMWare Fusion 1.0 from Amazon you could save up to 40 bucks! And it qualifies for free shipping. You instantly save 25 and there is a 20 dollar rebate.

Then once you buy it you can upgrade to version 1.1.2 and then if you want to download the beta version for 2.0 you could do that or sit around for the final RC and then get the next version for FREE!!
And after reading this article on the performancing testing and comparison with VMWare and Parallels, I really don't see the point in going with Parallels anymore:
