I have a sony camcorder that records not great quality video into an .MPG format, which is fine for viewing in quicktime and VLC etc. however when imported into After Effects or FCP, there is no sound.
To resolve this I read it was necessary to convert the videos into .DV format using Toast Titanium, so I did this.
My footage is in 16:9 format, FCP for some reason accepts this and it appears fine, however After Effects keeps the footage at 4:3, so really my question is how can I create a .DV file that both After Effects and FCP understand as 16:9?
With FCP accepting the 16:9 I tried to export this as a quicktime movie and then open it in After Effects, however it still opens 4:3... i'm confused, because when the converted movie is imported into another FCP project it remains 16:9.
If i have been unclear please say and i will explain as best i can, but otherwise any help is appreciated.
