Hi everybody,

I want to downolad Perian but was warned on site that I needed OS 10.4.7, but when I went to download 10.4.7 found that I needed 10.4.6 installed first. I'm not sure how the version numbering runs, but I'd like to work my way up--and I'm dead broke. What do I do?

Thanks!

-Hi,

OSX 10.3.x -->Panther

OSX 10.4.x -->Tiger

You'll have to purchase the retail install disk for Tiger. Not free, but the updates are free from Apple's site. The 3rd # after 10.3.free.

eBay has really good deals at times. HTH

First a bit of info:

- Mac OS 10.3.x is Panther (highest version available is 10.3.9)
- Mac OS 10.4.x is Tiger (highest version available is 10.4.11)
- Mac OS 10.5.x is Leopard (highest version available is 10.5.2)

You're really out of luck until you get money. In order to go from Panther to Tiger requires buying Tiger. By the same token, going from Panther to Leopard, requires buying Leopard.
