I find the Adobe registration process to be almost amusingly troublesome. I have more important ways to spend my time than trying to find the details about what license numbers are expected for registering this beta application. It seems to me a logical assumption that a beta for a CS4 application from Adobe released with the ability to accept a registration number would allow me to enter the number I used to install the CS3 version of the same program, which, in my case is the number I used to install the CS3 Master Collection. I assume that the reason I've been disappointed regarding my registration of the new software is that Adobe requires me to use the existing Master Collection registration number to accomplish some kind of intermediate step in order to get a number that will work for the CS4 beta, if that number will gain me anything at all, and I find this counterintuitive solution quite deplorable.

Make sure you keep the installer so you can uninstall it. I remember the nightmare that happened with the Photoshop CS3 public beta in regards to installing the final over the beta.
