OK, these folks need to get with the program and offer this service for the MacBook Air.
Please?

Would installing an SSD void Apple's warranty?

Self installed, yes. Authorized provider installed, no.

The MacBook Air already comes with an 60 GB SSD BTO option.
But the price and capacity disadvantage still makes SSDs a niche product.

Surely you didn't overlook the fact that this SSD (albeit not for the MacBook Air) doubles the capacity of what Apple offers...and costs less as well.

Of course, most folks expect the first refresh of the MacBook Air will offer a 120GB SSD in view of the clamor for more drive capacity.

And it'll likely come with no price increase as memory prices continue to fall with ample production capacity.

At this time the 120 GB SSD is offered only for the MacBook Pro. It seems improbable that it would work in a MacBook Air. The technology may eventually get there, but the fact the 120 GB version isn't offered for the MacBook suggests there are some technical problems with smaller laptops of which we are unaware. Setting your expectations above what the available evidence indicates is feasible is asking to be disappointed.

The 120GB drive is available for the MacBook. It's just that Expercom doesn't sell a MacBook pre-configured with the 120GB drive. My guess is that one could probably work out an upgrade with them. If nothing else, buy a MacBook and then buy the 120GB drive.
