Some of this is because the new phones, software, and store aren't available yet.

Wait.

How are there already accessories for the 3G iPhone when they do not even have a proper name?

Am I the only person who cares about voice recognition and voice notes? It is a phone after all and some of us might like to dial hands free while driving like we did on old cell phones years ago. Apple finish the basics and then you can invent all your wonderful features.

APple drops thew ball on the one feature that is an absolute must. No A2DP still. It's an iPod for crying out loud. No wireless headphone support? What the hell are they thinking? Add GPS, but forget about the core features? Come on!

I'm going to sell my original iPhone, and buy a different brand. I just can not believe they have totally lost sight of what this product is. A Phone, An internet device, An iPod, A Phone, An internet device, An iPod.....

What I want to now is when will the IPhone be compatible with MS Office documents to not only view but create word, excel, PPT and other docs? This is the reason many companies including mine do not currently support the IPhone.

Since the 8gb Iphone is going down in price to $199 and the 16gb to $299 I'm surprised they didn't also immediately adjust the price on the corresponding ipods to those price points. Whose gonna buy an ipod priced more than the iphone?

The phone is subsidized by AT&T. You have to sign up for a costly 2 year plan to get the iPhone. You do not have that subsidy with the iPod. It's still silly, though.

I want my money back.
Oh wait, I didn't pay for anything.

Yes you did. Your time is valuable, and the WWDC was practically valueless.

ok im fairly confused. I keep hearing that current iphone owners will NOT be able to use the 3G network, but apple clearly advertises 1st gen iphones with the 3G network in place of the usual E (edge)... Can anyone tell me whats going on with that noise?

anyone read/hear anything in the speech or other comments about practical issues?

what about flash?
what about windows media?
what about typing notes / files in any other environment than the silly yellow notepad?

and (a personal wish): how about the ability to switch the accelerometer OFF? (it is extremely annoying to show people photos and the stupid thing reacting with gigantic delays to the turn of screen).

and, ok, i'll stop now... why doesn't it have FM radio? (another personal issue).

You can actually get voice dialing and voice text messaging through AT&T for the iphone.

come on people. can you stop complaining about all the 'disadvantages' of the iphone and think about what an awesome device apple has made. i mean i think its a wonderful phone but on the other hand mine is jailbroken and is totally pimped out. so idk i guess it just gives me a little more patience with apple since im using other peoples sofware anyway lol

I don't know what advertising you're looking at. The iPhone is not capable of 3G networking, it lacks the hardware.
