Wont it be part of the full game when it comes out?

Yes, if you're willing to wait until September for it. Users who download the trial version now -- or who pay for the full release -- are able to join other Spore Creature Creator users, share their creature designs and generally participate in a larger online community of other Spore enthusiasts in advance of the full game.

The story should mention that this app is INTEL-only. I just downloaded it only to find that my Power Mac G5 isn't supported. Serves me right for not reading the system requirements first.

Oops. I suppose I should also read the entire story. It does mention the Intel requirement.
I'm not doing well today. LOL

I'm really disappointed in Spore for one reason:
Intel GMA 950 graphics are supported in Windows XP, but not in OSX.
Why? I bought my MacBook March 2007, just a bit before they released the new MacBooks in October 2007 I believe supporting the Intel Integrated X3100 graphics. Why is there a higher GPU requirement in OSX than XP? I tried downloading the Mac trial version, and it loaded to the galaxy type background but no windows ever came up and when I clicked anything it minimized and brought up an error. It works flawlessly and perfectly in XP. I do some gaming in XP, but this was one game (if I did end up buying) I intended to run in OSX and didn't want to switch over to XP with Bootcamp to play.
And eh don't mention Parallels or anything else. The games I play in XP are way out of their league unless they've made huge improvements since Leopard came out. Also, I don't feel like paying for them when I have Bootcamp thanks to Leopard
