MobileMe: What you need to know

Come on, Macworld! You publish a long, semi-definitive article about MobileMe, but neglect to mention that MobileMe does not sync the ToDos you create in iCal or Mail. Also, MobileMe's iCal application does not allow you to create ToDos, even though the Mac client of iCal does.
This is a major omission on Apple's part--they encourage their customers to use ToDos in iCal and Mail, but then completely neglect the same feature in MobileMe and the iPhone.

You said "bookmark syncing between Macs and/or PCs is still supported." Is there a way to sync bookmarks in Safari running on windows, now? This was the main feature that kept me from Windows Safari when it first came out. If this has been added, I may have to revisit it.

That's totally correct. The lack of To-do and Notes sync in either MobileMe or the iPhone is a real shame. You should have at least mentioned it in your article. The other question I have is what level of Outlook will work with MobileMe? My company uses Outlook 2002 and I'd like to have it integrated, easily, with my home and work calendar.

One question. You talk about push tecnology when the iphone is conected to internet. But most of the time the iphone wont be conected to internet, just to the telephone carrier net. In this net you get the sms and the calls, but no web-push tecnology is available.
Will the iphone use the powerness that is in the telecom net to have always on the push tecnology, like RIM does, or we have to wait until we conect to internet to get our mail sync.

It's very tempting but as a small business owner with my own domain I use the domain associated with my business web site and I don't see how I can use a third party e-mail with Mobile Me. If that was the case then it would be "Exchange for the rest of us." I think Apple is really missing out by not catering to smaller mom and pop businesses. They are a lot of those our there and full blown Exchange is overkill.
Also what is it with Apple and To-Do List?! or notes? Can't create or sync them on the iPhone and now Mobile Me? What gives?
I don't need a Mobile Me e-mail account. I use my own domain for business and Gmail for personal. I feel if I got Mobile Me I would not be getting the full value because he e-mail part would not be used by me.
If Apple allowed 3rd party e-mail I would buy it as soon as it was released.

Something just occurred to me.... If someone is walking around with their iPhone and accidentally deletes a contact, in a matter of minuets that contact will be wiped clean from every mac they own... or so it would seem. I hope people have good backup strategies!
