The MS page says you may download the update via the supplied link or just click "check for updates" in any MS Office app. i did the latter (which is usually how I get these) and it found and applied a 11.4.2 update (likely putting in things that 11.5.0 will be fixing..) but no 11.5.0 update. (tried of course closing the apps, rebooting, etc still nothing). So maybe this isn't in place yet on the MS update servers???

The update against 2004 seemed to go fine, I brought up word a couple of times, closed, all seems ok. Rebooted, did it again, and then again and... it hangs and both cores go to 100%. oh joy. force quit required. Doesn't seem easily reproducible but... be warned.

If you rely on VBA in any way shape of form, you can never upgrade to Office 2008. Given that the latest update to Office 2004 provides the means to read and write OOXML files—though this has yet to be put to the test by most of us in the wild—and that Office 2008 does not really provide much in the way of new features, not being able to buy into Office 2008 is not a big deal unless you are using an Intel-based Mac and have serious performance issues.
I write VBA code in Excel all the time, so Office 2008 is not an option for me. I also still need Classic for running software that is still currently in transition right now, so replacing my PowerPC Mac with an Intel Mac is not really an option either. Fortunately, my late-generation Power Mac G5 is plenty powerful enough for my needs right now, so I have no need to get an Intel-native version of Office either. Hopefully, by the time I get all of the information in my MusiCatalog database into Music Collector and can afford to purchase an OS X-native version of Vectorworks I will also have the salary that allows me to migrate to a Mac Pro. By that time, I would hope that Microsoft has a new VBA-enabled version of Office:mac on the market.

"Word 2008 now preserves spaces between words when you open a document that was created in or saved by Word 2008 for Mac or by Microsoft Office Word 2007. Macros are also preserved when you save a document."
"Word documents now open correctly when you download it from the Web and items in Notebook Layout documents are preserved when the document is converted. The update also fixes an issue where font text was not preserved for text in tables."
Good Lord is Microsoft making preserves or what! The fact that "Word 2008 now preserves spaces between words when you open a document that was created in or saved by Word 2008..." is hilarious. I am on Office 2004 so what happened to the spaces between words in the Word 2008 version previous to this update -- were all wordssmashedtogetherlikethis?
This is highly entertaining -- thanks MacCentral.

"When will we see VBA restored to Word 2008?"
VBA is not coming to Word 2008:_| -- NOOOOO that would be way too easy for Microsoft, and besides think of all the lost revenues -- first they incorporate a crippled version of VBA compared to the Windows Office version into Mac Office then they remove it and sell you Mac Office 2008 and then they add it back in to Office 2011 or 2012 for Mac and sell it to you all over again. Microsoft really needs the money, after all they have been basically selling the same version of Office for years over and over again, sure the version increases, but for many users the new version is the same as the old version in that it provides the same or similiar functionality.
I say WHEN IS WINDOWS OFFICE FEATURE PARITY VBA COMING TO MAC OFFICE?:0
Also when is Microsoft going to take all the NO Ops out of the code so it can run faster?]:) I guess that it is too much to ask that Mac Office run as fast as Office on Windows - Oh Well.X-(
