For users like myself who never use ARDAgent.app, would it not be a relatively simple fix to simply rename ARDAgent.app to something similar. I used this technique several times with MS Windows to stop unwanted apps from runing, when nothing else seemed to work. If they can't find them, they can't run them.
I don't profess to know anything about this, I am new to the Mac, but I am curious of others opinions.

That might work. But the recommended procedure - to convert the file to an archive - is not difficult and will avoid potential problems with file names. For one thing, an archived file will stand out in the file list so you can find it again with less dificulty. It's too easy to forget changes you make to system files and a simple name change will almost certainly fade in memory over time.
