When this comes out Macwold needs to sponsor some online play teams.

Blizzard is the only company that will port their games for macintosh the right way, not the cider port laziness that ea games are relying on.
Thank you Blizzard!!!

Diablo II is my all time favorite computer game and I purchased it back when it was released. As a testament to Blizzard and their games, I find it just as fun to play now as I did back then. It has stood the test of time incredibly well. One thing I will say about the Diablo franchise is that, at least with the first two releases, the updates from Diablo to Dialbo II were spot on. I played the original Diablo a lot and as soon as Diablo II came out I got it. What I found was that every little quirk I had in the first game as far as gameplay was concerned, no matter how small, had been addressed in Diablo II. I couldn't have asked for a better sequel. Also, Diablo II garnered Game of the year from multiple sources. So I have been anxiously awaiting announcement of the third installment and was very much exited that it has finally been announced. I can only hope that I will feel as great about this game as I did regarding the transition from Diablo to Diablo II. And Kudos to Blizzard for recognizing the viability of the Mac as a gaming platform with their releases in bringing their games not only to the Mac, but to the Mac simultaneously with the PC.

Blizzard is not porting their games, their are developing them for the Mac right along side the PC version.

Chances are, you will not be able to bring any characters with you from Diablo II, just like you couldn't bring any to Diablo II from Diablo. One thing I've been reading about the game at Blizzard's website and at www.diablofans.com (representatives of that site are on hand at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational and were there for the Q&A sessions with some of the games developers), is that the characters will be somewhat user customizable. They haven't yet announced all of the character classes, but for every class, you can select either a male or female to play. The differences in male/female will be only aesthetic and as such they will not have different attributes and abilities. Also I believe that you may be able to customize your characters looks slightly to make you character look unique from the other players online. This is what I took some of the comments I've read to mean, so don't quote me on this. There is a lot of work yet to be done on the game's development at this point, so things may be radically different as of release time.

Tallscot, was, of course, joking, asking about his World of Warcraft character.

Sorry, I guess I've been waiting for this announcement for so long that the excitement it has garnered is overloading the positronic matrix in my brain. I don't play WOW, so I don't know much about it; but I know there are Paladins in Diablo II and I remember a lot of people asking when that game came out if they could bring their Diablo characters with them to the new game.

It really looks amazing. The true 3D graphics engine helps a lot, as does the malleable physics engine. The gore flying off the bridge in the demo movie really illustrated it well.
I wonder if D3 will have healers, or if it will stay like it was in the D1/D2 games, where a healer wasn't really needed.

I believe the new class of Witch Doctor will be able to heal other characters.

One of the main things that bugged me about Diablo 2 was that a lot of spells - including some of my personal favorites - were pretty much useless because of how they upgraded. As a result, everyone used the same spells, making the game much less diverse than it could have been. I hope they address this in Diablo 3.
Not that I have time to play it now anyway...
