Don't dis flash quite so easily, gang. Flash is an immensely useful platform, and being able to handily distribute Flash items inside PDF files will prove to be very useful.
How about a PDF of lecture notes or slides, with a built-in Flash presentation of the lecture itself, for example?

Sounds incredibly dull and pushy.
Why not put in fold-outs, scratch-and-sniffs and a Mad Magazine back cover too?
Video does not belong in a document. It's one of many reasons people didn't want to use OpenDoc; polluting documents with extra junk. It seems like every time someone comes up with this stuff, the people who are excited are the people who want to use it for generating their rubbish. Nobody seems to be interested in whether actual users actually want these things.

You mean a PDF with embedded video, like you've been able to do since, oh, Acrobat 6? Or Office, what, 98 or so?
