I have tried to install software updates discovered by Software Update, but the download process is aborted with Error -3001, stating that "a networking problem has occurred." I have a cable modem connection to the Internet and the diagnostic reports that the connection is OK. What I am trying to install are the latest versions of Quick Time and Leopard. What is going on here and how do I correct it?

-Hi,

Many folks prefer using Apple's download site manually. Have you tried it that flavor?

I successfully downloaded/installed the latest OS update via the Apple download site. Thanks. Still don't know why Software Update didn't do it, though.

-Hi,
Somethimes there is a connection hiccup and the complete download doesn't take affect via Software Update in System Preferences. That same deal has happened to me and with other members. It just happens now and then....

So the best way is install manually from Apple's site.
