When this review appeared I was tempted to buy the camcorder. After reading the comments I'm glad I didn't. The review was seriously inadequate and whitewashes the problems doing video editing on Macs. Thanks for the comments which set the record straight.

Yes, I comfirm... I got a 2GHz Intel mac and i couldn't synch my HDR-SR11 with it... until i went into the camer and delete a SD shot (i took to test the SD quality)... at first i didn't think there was any SD stuff on the camcorder, and if the camera is set to HD you can't see the SD stuff... its a bit weird, but now that i know its ok...
Othere than that, i'm very impressed with it, and i'm still very happy having chosen this one over the Canon HG20...

imovie 09 states "...Easily back up original AVCHD or other file-based video clips with the new archive feature. Import archived camcorder files from the Finder at any time."
Am I too assume the camcorder will be easier to use w/ imovie 09, mainly importing?

Actually, it was almost that easy before, but there weren't any instructions telling you so. Once you pulled the files off the memory card (disk, stick, what have you,) you merely needed to import them through the finder and start working. What I like about iMovie 09 is that they brought back some of the features of the older '06/HD version, though it more a melding of the '06/'08 versions rather than a full reversion. It should be a little easier to work in, but it's still going to fall short in some areas that were more 'movie editor' functions than cut-and-paste. For basic home movie editing, '09 should excel over it's immediate predecessor.
