Last I heard TomTom and Garmin's GPS implementations for the Iphone's rocking GPS features are in the works.
Dutch-Based TomTom just needs to decide on the price for one and a GPS iphone app will be out.
Don't fear, more are a-coming...

Shows that the iPhone may (quite understandably) knock off a lot of other GPS devices and companies. Pogue reported that the iphone GPS sensor "antenna nub" wasn't sensitive as other GPS devices and it could experience interference with metal devices. But when the next iphone version (post-G3) rolls out with (likely) even more solid GPS features, there will exist no reason to purchase any other GPS devices other than your iPhone! The time was ripe for me to get an iPhone with all the nav features up-and-coming!
Currently there's a few for SanFran's Bart, as well as a lot of city transit features.

It's not been all fun and games for application developers - especially as a games developer. Our iPhone game, "iDrops", isn't one of the eight featured puzzle games, and so we're virtually impossible to find on the App Store. After all the effort put into developing the game, it's very frustrating.
I've posted some comments (and grumbles) from a game developer's perspective here:

And you can try iDrops here for free (on your Mac or PC):

And this, unfortunately, is exactly the point that I made in a recent editorial here on Macworld. I suspect than more developers than not are going to find that their software titles are difficult to find, going forward, as the App Store is populated with more and more software. It's makes my suggestion to them -- having a coherent marketing plan in place -- an imperative if you want to see any return on investment on these products.
It's not Apple's fault -- there's a limited amount of "real estate" in the App Store, just like there is on store shelves in brick and mortar stores, and it'll only go so far. It's up to the developer/publisher to figure out how to get people who might be interested in their products aware of them.

You're absolutely right, and we definitely missed the boat with our non-App Store marketing plan. We should have had a video up on YouTube weeks back. App developers can't simply hope to post on the App Store and rake in the money.
My biggest gripe today is not so much that we're not getting top billing, but that if you go to Puzzle / Strategy, and "View All", then we're not listed at all. Given that there's only ever one launch day for a store like this, it seems a bit arbitrary to only list eight apps under a category view of all games. You can find us in the right category via the Browse quick link - just not via the categories view. Annoying.
