MobileMe is working great here ... in fact I've already received my first spam. :)

I have a 20 mbps broadband connection which in reality gives me around 11-12 mbps on the average. That is not lightning fast, compared to those who have their broadband through optic fibres, but it should be fast enough. Still, MobileMe is rather slow. It works, more or less, and hopefully it will get faster, but it will take a lot more than this to convince me that webbased applications is the future!
If I have an application on my iMac, it takes a couple of seconds to open it. Not so if it is on the internet. At least not with the former dot Mac, now MobileMe. Not here in Europe.
I wonder when Apple is going to have that fixed. I had hoped it would have been with the launch of MobileMe, but so far, it has not been improved.

Help! I've got an iMac which downloaded all the updates fine, and a MacBook which only received the iTunes update, but does not get the OS X MobileMe Update. Sysprefs and syncing still say .Mac and I can't find a valid link for the MobileMe Update to download it...

I really wish I knew. Here in the US, it is doing the same. Still no direct access through http://www.mac.com/ either.
I am wary of downloading the MobileMe app (if I could find, that is). I fear that it may cause more problems than solve.
Perhaps Apple could try communicating their progress (or lack of it) to us. Wish I could help further!

OK, guys and gals. I was having problems with changes to AddressBook on my iMac G5 (OS 10.5.4) not showing up on MobileMe or when I synced my new iPhone 3G to iTunes (7.7). Support call to Apple had simple and successful fix. Maybe this might help some of you who have been frustrated with this problem. I found out in my case twas not MobileMe at all. Here's the deal: corrupt cache and preference files. Process:
(1) "User" Library:
• Trash entire "Caches" folder
• Trash any AddressBook preferences files
(2) "Hard Drive" Library:
• Trash entire "Caches" folder
• Do not trash anything else
(3) Trash:
• Empty trash, ignoring "in use" warnings
• Secure empty trash
(4) Restart:
• Restart computer and resync iPhone
• Resync MobileMe
Worked like a charm for me. I hope for you too!

I figured out what you need to do:
Just go to system preferences and then click on the .mac icon. Then go to the account tab and click on sign out. Wait for a few seconds and there should come up a message telling you to update to mobileme.
The software update will find the update for you, download it and install it (asking you for your password).
The next step is to restart your computer and all the icons should change to a pink drive with a cloud on it.
Your e-mail will now include a @me.com when you click on new message.
The only thing that still doesn't reflect the new features (at least for me) is the idisk space but probably that's because my .mac will renew in about 40 days and when that happens I'll prob get the extra disk space.
As to the online website: just point your browser to http://www.me.com and that should work.

Anyone having problems syncing other accounts? I had to forward my work messages to me.com accnt. This works, and keeps the info current with all my devices, but I cannot figure out how to send an email through the me.com accnt with my work email address in the reply instead of *@me.com
