As of 8:40 am EDT http://www.mac.com/ is still down with an apology about the delay.
MobileMe web applications not yet available.
The MobileMe transition is underway but is taking longer than expected. While core services such as desktop mail, iDisk and sync are available, the new MobileMe web applications are not yet online. Thank you for your patience as we complete the upgrade.

I am not interested in Mobileme, SIMPLY becuase it does not support Internet Explorer. Thats the dumbest thing i;ve ever heard. And will prove to be a minor mistake by apple. I am going to www.liveoffice.com for 7.00 a month ill have Iphone exchange sync, thats cheaper than the 100 bucks a year and I'll have Outlook Web Access.

RE: Internet Explorer not being supported. Apple's Web site lists the PC requirements as:
For PC: Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional (SP2) or later; Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3, Firefox 2, or later; Microsoft Outlook 2003 or later recommended
Looks like IE is supported to me.

"It takes nearly 5 minutes for my email to finally get 'pushed'. I'm disappointed. I could set it to check every 5 minutes if I wanted to. How's this better?"
It's better because you don't have to set it to check every 5 minutes! Give it time to spool up. I'm sure MobileMe is getting a good workout right now. It'll get faster.

From the wikipedia page:
Address Book (Push). When a contact is added or amended it is updated immediately on all the user's devices.
Calendar (Push). When a calendar appointment is added or amended it is updated immediately on all the user's devices.
Whoever wrote this thought that contacts and calendar were push.
