mine will show the update one time and not the next. If I try to run update it just spins a while then just goes back to itunes. It has been doing that since this morning. I am thinking that the update is not even there for the ipod.......just for the phone today..........

I believe Apple has closed the iTouch upgrade link until more folks are able to get their iPhones upgraded. I've not heard of one successful iTouch upgrade, yet.

I finally got the iPod Touch upgraded. At least it is in the process of restoring iPod music and videos.

I was able to update around midnight, thank goodness for being up late. All went well, even the restore. The only minor glitch I had was I had to sync twice for all of the apps to come across to my touch. If there is a flood this morning of people I hope Apple has prepared for it and other can experience the new features. I like what I see so far and the performance of the touch seems not to be effected, enjoy folks.

Another totally dumb decision made in the marketing department and not vetted by anyone having a clue how technology works (doing the activations, 2.0 software for both phones and pods all on the same day).
Hard to believe Jobs green-lit this dumb decision, either he is really starting to relinquish his control or he's sicker than they let on. I do see the irony as I have always thought he maintains too tight a grip and makes too many unilateral decisions!
