I recently upgraded to 10.5.4 and have lost a calendar in iCal. I have a bootable clone, and some back-up versions of 10.3.9 on an external HD. On my Mac's HD, 10.5, one calendar's event folder doesn't seem to have been created during the install. The calendar's .ics file is there in the calendars folder, but it doesn't show up when I launch iCal in the calendars list. In 10.3.9 there are no events folders for the calendars to drag over from the external HD even if I thought it prudent to do so without finding out what the consequences would be beforehand.
The calendar in question and it's events still appear when I boot 10.3.9 from the clone.
I have tried deleting the preference files, cache as described elsewhere and still don't have the missing calendar or events associated with it when I launch iCal.
I am contemplating moving the folders in my Mac's home/user/lib/calendars and .../application support/ical to my desktop and dragging over the calendars from the clone, or, in the alternative using my DataBackup app and restore them to the Mac's HD.
Would that work? Or are there any other suggestions? I have not been able to find any posts of solutions that have been more than the simple and obvious, and, generally have not worked. Or the posts with similar issues have gone un-responded to.
I could really use some help here.
Thanks,
Gary
