Review: Jott for iPhone

"The Jott application doesn’t talk to the iPhone’s calendar, unfortunately, so you can’t connect a note to a calendar item."
Maybe not, but the completely cool thing is you can link Jott to your Google Calendar, and create events by simply speaking the details (what, where, when). And, if I could get it to work consistently, link to Evernote.

When I click through links in your article or the Jott web site, I get a message in iTunes saying ..."your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the Australian Store."
Is this a problem in other countries and if it's free what is the difficulty in international distribution?

Jott on my phone has been extremely buggy. I have had to reload it twice, because once it locks up it stays locked up until you uninstall it.
And it locked up in the middle of the grocery store, with the grocery list on it. So I went home.
I like it a lot when it works, but so far it has burned me at least twice. Looking forward to a more stable update.

That's a known bug. See the Jott FAQ's. A fix is top priority and coming soon.

Their FAQ's say that, "currently", confirmation messages for notes created on the iPhone CANNOT be automatically e-mailed to you (or another confirmation address you choose. That action is the default for voice messages created on the toll-free number, however. I infer that they will be updating the iPhone software to send confirmation messages soon.

I contacted Jott and they will be making a link to MobileMe Calendars like Google Calendar. You can link your Google calendar to Outlook if you use a PC and in Turn will be Pushed to your iPhone Calendar and then pushed also to MobileMe.
In Google Calendar click on Manage Calendar bottom left and do the Mobile Set-up. Then go to Google calendar help and see a link to a program to download that syncs calendar. Once done your iPhone contacts will be pushed to Google Gmail as well.

The new in-ear headphones from Apple (due any day now) are supposed to contain a microphone.
