Adobe's Photoshop Express taken offline for maintenance

And this is precisely why I hope we never have our core applications- like word processing, image editing, etc completely replaced by web based apps. Then it's like all you have is an expensive dumb terminal. If internet access fails or if the server dies or the software is taken offline- you're SOL.

It's hard to believe a big firm like Adobe doesn't mirror their latest stable version along with the user image database or have atleast some other redundant system in place. In today's world, this is idiotic and shows poor planning and execution. Reminds me of the mid '90's when half the websites were "Under Construction" or "Be Back Soon!".

Yeah, these days, you only see those notices on sites that are so badly run they can't stay up during transitions. Like, for instance, Apple.com during every Steve Jobs keynote speech while products are being rolled out, or when MobileMe launches, or when the Apple Discussion Forums are down, or...or... ;)
