Has anyone out there tried this? I'd be particularly interested in the views of former Canvas users. Canvas is about to go bye-bye for me (PB12" being replaced by a MacBook Pro).

I tried it a bit. you can get a free demo to try yourself. I have tried about 8 different OS X graphic program demos and none of them do exactly what I want that I can do with Canvas 3.5.4 which is better in my opinion than the later versions of Canvas. I have been thinking of writing my own graphics program to do just the things I need but there is only so much time in one's day. heh Almost al lthe new graphics apps for OS X build upon Apple's Core Graphics (Quartz) and basically do the same things albeit with some additional macro. Of all the simple graphics programs, I like Vector Designer the best and is what I would pick if I were starting out from scratch. Maybe someone will reverse engineer some of the things Canvas 3.5.4 had in it since Canvas is now dead?

I couldn't agree more. I still use Canvas 3.5.4 on my Titanium Powerbook and wish I could run it on my MacBook Pro. I have actually started working on a Canvas-like application that is OS X native and PPC/Intel friendly but it is a daunting task.
I will check out both Intaglio and Vector Designer but for now I've been using OmniGraffle Pro. Of course, I bought OmniGraffle Pro back when it was reasonably priced. :-|
