Am I alone in thinking that this obsession with print speeds is rather over-rated? Every review I read seems to dwell on how slow this or that printer prints. In the real world I couldn't care less how long it takes to print a text doc. While it's printing I'm doing something else anyway. A photo is perhaps more relevant but only a little. More important to me is the cost per print. Buying new cartridges frequently makes me wince as another $25-30 goes down. surely that is more important?

Just purchased this printer a few days ago and love it. Yes, it does seem to print a little slow but the options that come with this printer far out weigh that. It was extremely easy to install. I have a home network and there was no manual configurations needed. The printer found the network via the wizard and within 5 minutes I was up and running.
One area I need help with is how to print a color document in B&W? I have searched the utilities, preferences, options everyplace I can think of and can not find how to configure my Mac to print only B&W as to not waste the color cartridge. I have a Mac Leopard 10.5.
Can anyone help me with this please?
Thank you in advance.

I bought this unit and noticed that the control panel is not illuminated;is this true? At night, it's impossible to read the menu items....is it this unit in particular or does someone else have the same problem? Or is this the feature of this unit? I emailed HP and they told m:Remove all ink cartridges, close the unit, disconnect the power cord with the unit powered on. Press and hold the pound key and the number six(# 6).Continue to hold the two keys while connecting the power cord. Continue to hold the two key until you see Semi full reset or S Full Reset. Follow the prompts to complete the reset... Well it only got up to Num Reset ... and it didn't do anything to the nonexisting light. Any ideas?
