Web hosting/design....newbie???

Hi
I have a homepage and have purchased a url. What is the best small business, mac-friendly web host? There are so many. Also, I don't have any webdesign software....do any of the hosts have a template, or do what do I need to design my own. I don't need anything fancy at first, but need help understanding the best routes, etc.
