Someecards is a foul place to send my friends and loved ones. By the way, while trying out some other online third party ecard sites, my email address ended up on Google.

Thanks, Apple, for helping to expose my address to even more SPAM than ever!

There are two petitions, by the way, not just one:

http://www.PetitionO...8/petition.html

as well as the previously mentioned

http://www.PetitionO...0/petition.html

I'm glad someone with "connections" is upset about this and has someone to at least voicemail. Do you think Steve actually got the iCard I sent him on July 9th?

http://www.PetitionO...0/petition.html

It's got over 3,000 views now, the lions share of which are coming from Google and other search engines for people looking to find out what happened to Apple iCards. I can hear the anguish behind all those searches!

Did you send him a card?

RIP iCards
Whenever I get an e-card, I think, "wow, you're lazy, you coulldn't even take the time to send me a real greeting card,"

Maybe I'm old fashioned....

I've owned Steve Dekorte's PostCard since 2004 and can vouch for its usefulness and "iCardness". However, part of the iCard's appeal, as you bring out in your article, were the beautiful and quirky images in Apple's stock collection... PLUS... the fact that the website was accessible from any computer.
Lost opportunity is right. I would have forgiven Apple anything had they sent me the dunce cap attired kitten!!
PS. Could you email me that iCard image, by the way?

Don't forget the most excellent collection of additional stationery here:

I too was saddened by the disappearance of iCards - but I think stationery is a more then adequate replacement - thanks for the reminder!

Alas, no. iCards had been killed by that time, remember?

I guess the singing telegram will have to suffice.

Been using Mail for years and hadn't even looked up in the right corner of an outgoing eMail. Thanks for this story as it reminded me that there was this feature and I had never even tried it......Just did and it's quite nice.
