nice .... now I want one to replace the one I have .. which has nothing wrong with it other than being severely out-classed now
I wonder what happens if you're playing it in your car and you hit a bump ... new song!!!
well, I'd hope they have a preference to turn that off ... maybe ... or it may be sophisticated enough to handle that scenario

It still comes with headphones, right? I got the impression the new headphones were separate. Hope I'm wrong.

Looks a little awkward to hold and use the click wheel.

I've been waiting to get a new iPod, but this will not be the one. For just $100 more, I can get an iPod Touch with a bigger screen, more widescreen aspect than the Nano, and of course, all the other perks to having the Touch.
The price break is what I have been waiting for all this time.

A bump in the road is not going to affect the accelerometer. On my iPod touch, you have to give it a vigorous shake for it to get the message.

Y'all don't get it.
The iPod Touch SUCKS! Do you know how EASY it is to control the music with the click wheel on the iPod and iPod Nano with a single hand?
Have you even tried the same with the Touch?
The damned thing HAS A TOUCHSCREEN Apple, implement the friggin' "clickwheel' like-control on the stupid Touch.
Sheesh, y'all think it is "da bomb". Wish it were actually one to blow up the ravin' reviews (not the reviewers, the reviews; Of course, if I blew up the reveiws, that means that I'd need to be viewing them on my Mac, thus blowing up my Mac, which is prolly what I deserve for wanting to blow something up . . . let's change that to a balloon instead and blow that up; there, that's more "PC" [political crap]).
Have a nice day!

It's nice that Apple has spent so much time and attention to the iPhone and iPods, I like my iPods as much as the next guy, but NOW can we have some MAC BOOK PRO LOVE!!!!?? :_| At least give us a black anodized option. B-)

Steve Jobs today in his keynote said the iPod touch is for the 'casual music listener'. So if you want a dedicated music device, get one of the click wheel iPods.
I have both, and I use each according to its ability and the way I need to use it at that particular time. Usually, that means I have the click wheel iPod in use while driving. In most other times it is usually the touch, because it is more versatile.

Jobs was talking about the speaker in the Touch being for casual music listening not the Touch itself.

hmm .... perhaps an iPod Touch plus the remote controls on the earphone wire would be a good combination
or a couple more little buttons on the side?
