You wanted games, here's your damn games! Now kiddies go and play them on your iPhone, you can't have them on your iMacs or MacBooks though! Then again, would you really want them on there as they are? I think not. Hey we just give you a reason to give your kids a new iPhone though so they can play and chat and talk on their phones running your bill up instead of doing their school work and home work. (I'm still totally against a kid having a cell phone for any reason! Hey that's who they are marketing all these phones towards these days, so they will snap them up like the latest fad they are and waste their parents money so they don't have to put any real features in them an adult would want or could actually make use of with their tiny buttons or non-existent touch interface buttons that need a "stylus" with no style to use.)

Wow, what a curmudgeon!

You apparently don't have a clue as to the demographics involved in the video game industry. The market isn't driven by "kids", it's driven by, like most other markets, white males aged 18-35, who clearly fall into the adult category.

Like I said kids! The video game industry doesn't take into account anyone under 18 but, I assure you that there are a lot more kids under 18 that play video games than their 18-34 counter demographics shows, since they don't consider anyone under the age of 18 to be able to afford those games but, totally discount the 13-18 crowd that either get a good allowance every week or do the odd job thing to come up with their money to make these purchases. Don't give me any slack about the games that are rated "M" either since I happen to know for a fact they even buy those games. I was kid at one time myself some several decades ago and have had a couple of my own, so I know what I'm talking about, things have not changed since then.
It's obvious to anyone with half a brain that the average adult male no longer posses the finger size of a 12 year old girl, which is exactly what these devices are aimed at with their tiny buttons and touch screens that require those tiny fingers to operate.

Well, I'm certain that you don't know a darn thing about what you are talking about. But I also know that won't stop you from making rash generalizations based upon your limited experience and lack of knowledge. Please have discussions about things you know something about. You clearly don't comprehend demographics or statistics, how they work or what they indicate.

I'm glad that it's obvious to those with half a brain, but for those of us with whole brains, your assumptions don't hold any water.

723 posts in, Warlock, I expect you to recognize a troll when you see one and steer clear.

Nice comeback :)
Trucker, you're blaming the devices because you have fat fingers?

If we still got credit for all the posts before moving here to Macworld.com, I'd have more than you Peter. :)

Besides, I like feeding the trolls sometimes. They're hungry for all that attention, right? :D

I would order an iPod Touch tomorrow morning if there were just one thing it could do. If I could take Keynote slides to class on the Touch and wirelessly send them to a data projector, that single feature would tip the scales. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that most of my colleagues would clamber to get one if they could leave the laptops in their offices and just carry a touch to class.
But given that the data projectors - at least the ones we have - don't take a wireless feed, and given that I'm not even sure you can put Keynote on an iPod Touch (without jailbreaking it), it's looking like a fantasy I won't be able to live out for a couple or more years yet. Sigh. This is something that would be awesome for teachers everywhere. iPod Touch, Keynote equipped, Bluetooth interface to a Data Projector. What a dream combo that would be. If anyone from Apple reads this comment, pass the idea on to his Steveness, please.

I think the focus on new apps in the itouch is misplaced. There are very basic things that are missing. First to compete in the "organizer arena" the itouch must have "to dos" and notes integrated into the email component (like all other devices on the market). Second a 2meg camera needs to be part of the device, otherwise it can not compete. Three, remember not everyone is prepared to consider a contract with the companies Apple has chosen to distribute the iphone, so for many apple fans this is as close as they want to get to an I phone.
In my case moving to the provider with the iphone would increase my bill by one third, and the company is well know for its lack of customer support. My solution was a cheap cell phone and an itouch.

Maybe this British evoluntionary theorist is right about the human race is evolving into two species, ones that use iTouches and ones that don't. :-)
