What really bothers me about this latest announcement is the apparent lack of cross-compatibility for the in-ear headphones or Nike. The iPhone as a loss leader for exercise oriented consumers seems wacky I, for one, am anxious to exchange my nano for iPhone while working out. I don't want give up my Nike but I also want my phone with me while at the gym or on longer runs.
Apple promises fewer dropped calls with iPhone 2.1

Well, I can only speak for myself, but my iPhone has been unusable a good chunk of the time ever since the 2.0 update, either because of restores after crashing or because of dropped or unintelligble calls. I'm desperately hoping that 2.1 fixes some of these problems.

Re Safari Crash:
I've had it crash with anywhere from 2-8 pages open.
Uncountable times for each - from my experience it doesn't seem to be related to number of pages open.
I've had it happen on 3G, Edge and WiFi so am not inclined to blame my service provider (although others have claimed issues I haven't seen myself)
My guess is its just more general flakiness on Apple's iPhone side of things .... Friday should be most interesting.
