the genius thing is great marketing - like amazon's and netflix's recommendations, it's only surprising they didn't do it sooner. bravo for getting nbc back - big turnaround in the face of all the pundits who claimed itms was a sinking ship and nbc was the first rat.

I love the new iPod lines but I'd love them even more if they offered 16:9 aspect ratio screens. There is nothing wide screen about the Nano but there is plenty space for it. I suppose as HD content becomes more common this is an inevitable iteration. Certainly on the Touch which is a better video machine, 16:9 would have been nice.

A good, solid line of players, and a reasonable upgrade to iTunes.
Apple is continuing to lead in this area, and has added just enough change to design (Nano and to a lesser degree, touch) and added features to keep the line fresh.
In my opinion, the Shuffle is great just as it is, as Apple obviously does. Why change something just for the sake of change?
Continual evolution for the iPod line is what will keep Apple way ahead of the competitors. The touch was the revolutionary new iPod, and to change it too drastically so soon would alienate those who are becoming used to the MultiTouch interface.
Cheers!

We're interested in viewing the new touch up close and personal, but a call to our local (Chicagoland) Apple Store resulted in no info on when the new line will be in the retail stores. Any info on that possibility? The touch fills our need for a combo ipod, pda, and pocket-size net access.
