I have downloaded and paid for the software that sounds like a good idea but find it is not located in the applications folder and there is no place to input the supplied serial number - so it will run in demo mode only. Most links on their web page cannot be found??!!
What gives?

PocketMac programs use an installer, which puts all the right files in all the right places. The file you downloaded is a disk image, which, when opened, contains an installer. The screensaver will be installed to System Preferences -> Screensaver & Desktop, where all screensavers live. From there, you can select your screensaver, and configure/register iCalScreensaver.

Which links did you try on the web site that didn't work?

This might be a great idea for some people, but all I can think of is my monitor filled with reminders to pick up hemorrhoid cream on the way home. I don't really want to advertise all my iCal appointments and reminders to my coworkers.

The beauty of it is that if you are using the multiple calendars feature if iCal, and separating your personal, private appointments from the ones that you want to keep in your face all day, you can pick and choose which calendars display appointments, and which don't. Of course, if you work in a place where you don't want your coworkers seeing your appointments in the first place, that's a different kind of problem... can't help you with THAT!

this is by far the ugliest screensaver I've ever seen. And the fact they would charge for this? who would buy this? Why did Macworld mention this?

How would you like your displayed appointments to look? Any suggestions for version 2.0?

Try using the Apple Word of the Day screensaver as creative inspiration. Sleek serif fonts, modern background, appointments slide in and out... just some thoughts. Build something that looks that good, I'll buy it for $20.
