I haven't had any trouble to speak of with .Mac/MobileMe.
I use it for backup using Sync from my iMac and MacBook.
I maintain a user group website on the group's iDisk, using the Finder to copy updated html files and PDF newsletters to it.
For my own website, I use iWeb to maintain it on my own MobileMe account, as well as uploading lots of photos from iPhoto to gallery.me.com.
I don't use MobileMe for my primary e-mail, though I do have Gmail configured to grab any of my mail that ends up there (primarily from Apple).

Mobile Me - where do I begin?
It's incredibly slow, the applications drop connections, going to the Account Management screen usually takes multiple attempts, and this was all just this week.
I would have thought it would have been worked out by now, but the web apps are just not reliable.

This MacWorld article reports minor fixes to a very flawed system. Almost all the problems Walt Mossberg described in July remain and those are the problems that must be fixed for MobileMe to become a viable program for business and busy personal users.
So far it's been a waste of money for me.

GHz Power PC G4 version 10.5.5 ADDRESS BOOK IN A CLOUD I've had my Mac for years. I've had MobileMe since Nov 2007 but never used it until I bought my iphone this week. The address book synced from mac with mobileme once (I don't know when). I can not NOW sync Mac address book with mobileme. I've changed password, empty cache, closed mobileMe, restarted computer and worked on the problem for several hours. Where do I go from here?
