I can't be sure without more details about your system, but lack of USB support sounds like something went wrong during your Parallels Tools installation after you set up Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac. A tools re-install may fix that problem and it would take about 10 minutes.

That said, you're obviously entitled to a free upgrade to Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac since you bought your Desktop 3.0 for Mac copy after September '08. If you'd like, I'll look into your upgrade issue. All you really need is a serial key, which could probably be e-mailed to you, but methods vary depending on where/how you purchased Desktop 3.0 for Mac. It's up to the distributors how this is handled.
