Netgear is also selling a powerline network adapter. It also requires Windows to change security settings, but at least it is only $120 for a kit with two adapters:

I've been using netgear powerline bridges for a while. The older ones were of course slower. They also work plug and play. No Mac user has felt the need to change the security settings, so it's not a problem.

I would like to see speed tests from mac to mac to see if these devices live up to there 200 Mbps claim. I could see these being used for an Apple TV if wireless interference is a problem.

I used the Linksys powerline product and had great success in using it as a wired bridge between my NAS and Apple TV. Speeds were usually at least 12 Mbps and worked well for HD content.

I agree with tatilserver. I think the MacWireless product is grossly overpriced. I too purchased the Netgear product and am very satisfied with the performance and price.
I can't see too many people shelling out $200 for the MacWireless gear, when other solutions are significantly cheaper. I have my DVR connected to my Airport Extreme WAP/Router/Switch for downloads from DirectTV and the performance is excellent.
