Aren't the Apple TV sizes 40GB and 160GB?

I think those may have been the sizes in 2007? 160 is the larger size now though.

Anyone know how easy it is to upgrade the HD yourself?

Another "feature" the update adds is that it breaks Boxee if you've hacked your AppleTV to add it.

Remote control learning is a great feature. The Apple Remote gets lost in couch cushions so easily. I'd rather use my big universal remote that came with my cable box.

Uh-huh. You hacked your AppleTV - what do you expect?

Macworld archive article explains it all in great detail:

Oh, I expect that sort of thing from Apple.

I just posted that bit of info as a caveat to others who have Boxee installed on their AppleTV, so that they can decide whether the upgrade is worthwhile for them or if they should avoid it until a workaround is created.

It appears as if it supports 1080p resolution now.

I wish it would support AVCHD (like the PS3) so I could watch video from the vast majority of HD consumer camcorders without having to go through the time-consuming, tedious process of transcoding every single movie I shoot.

Yep, that was me making a stupid mistake last night...thanks for pointing it out, and I've corrected it in the story.
