Contribute is without doubt the most hated bit of software we use in our office. It is a constant nightmare. It crashes constantly. It often takes several successive attempts to publish anything, and the results often bear no resemblance to the draft we were working on. It is constantly sworn at by everyone who uses it, even those who would never normally let a swear word pass their lips. I hope this upgrade deals with all these problems, but the review doesn't instill too much hope. We keep upgrading in the hope that the new one would be be better than the last. So far we have been disappointed every time. I'll wait and see what the consensus is this time.

I'm a web developer who has a plethora of clients that use Contribute. If the site is designed properly and contribute configured properly, it is a breeze to use. When combined with a properly designed CSS/XHTML site everything my clients edit with contribute renders the same when published. Also, placing styles that users can use in a userstyle.css, they only see styles which they need such as a special list style for a news article. Last, contribute is a dream especially if you implement dreamweaver templates --- keeps users from messing with headers, footers etc, and allows only editing in the region that the web developer has designated as "user editable"

From an end user standpoint editing content, dropping in video (that already has play controllers) all those features are sweet!
