Yeesh. Blockbuster is always one step behind the competition. Not only that, but their marketing plan resembles someone thrashing wildly in the middle of the ocean, without a life preserver.
So their competitive selling point is not needing a subscription -- fine. But since those prices are the same as what they charge in their brick & mortar stores, are they competing with their own business, or trying to find a way to eventually push out their physical space + hired help?

I will never go back to Blockbuster after having rented from them for a couple of years at a local store that charged ridiculous prices for DVD rentals and even worse late fees. Once a company has screwed over a customer over and over, they would have to go to great lengths to earn that customer back. In my case, I cannot imagine ever doing business with Blockbuster again, along with the rumors (or truths) about censorship from Blockbuster.
