?Torrent finally available for Mac

I've used µTorrent on Windows but I greatly prefer Transmission on the Mac, mainly for its clean interface. I hear they've prettied up µTorrent for the Mac but unless there's some other compelling reason (like performance) I don't see any reason to switch. Time will tell. I hope to see a direct performance comparison eventually.

I'd heard of µTorrent for awhile (my flatmate uses it on Windows), so I tried it when I came out last week. It is nice, slim, fast, lightweight, etc. But as the others have said, no hugely compelling reason to switch. The Torrent watch folder is nice, but Transmission has that, too. One missing feature I'd love to see added is the ability (that Transmission has) to select a download folder when adding a torrent, rather than having them all download to a single folder.

I agree with what the others have said. I run µTorrent on my Windows laptop, and Transmission on my MacBook Pro.
As far as download reliability goes, Transmission is a 10 / 10, so I don't see a need to switch.
Nonetheless, a comparison article would be greatly appreciated.

One reason I'm switching to µTorrent is the iphone interface http://www.davidraso...torrent-iphone/

Re MacGod's comment about downloading single folders, uTorrent has that. Go to UI settings, under "Adding Torrents" select "Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent"--presumably this setting made it to the Mac port, but as I haven't looked at it yet I can't say.
Actually, in that connection (no pun intended. no, really), I find uTorrent works better than Transmission. Transmission is usually rather "leaky" in that it will give me not just the file(s) or folder(s) that I select for download, but also bits and pieces of adjacent files, too. (I seem to recall that memory-hog Azureus having this problem, too.) uTorrent gives me just the file(s) and folder(s) that I select and nothing else. A minor thing over which YMMV, but for that reason alone I want to kick the tires of the Mac uTorrent.

Just to extend my earlier comment:
"Re MacGod's comment about downloading single folders, uTorrent has that. Go to UI settings, under "Adding Torrents" select "Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent"--presumably this setting made it to the Mac port, but as I haven't looked at it yet I can't say."
A window will then pop up, just like Transmission, that gives you the option to choose which files you want to download and which ones you don't want. See the rest of my earlier posting to see how Transmission stumbles in this regard.

OK, I'm trying out uTorrent now - everything looks, and runs, nice and elegant so far.
I'd go as far to say that uTorrent looks better than Transmission.
I can't seem to find a way to get the pop-up window to allow me to select only specific files though.
