amazeme1: I think you saw the error because you had not yet installed the plugin. You need to download, then install, then restart your browser for this to work.
It does indeed work (on my Intel iMac with 10.5.5), and is pretty darn cool.

W_Loring: I was attempting to download the plugin from the link provided by MacWorld when I got the message that the download was MIME content.
Apparently my post was not understood to be my personal download experience. So while you were able to download it on your Intel Mac, I was not able to do that on my Intel Mac.

Followup on previous response to W_Loring:
#1 I was able to download the plugin from the following link after my prior response to you. The URL is: http://www.google.co...ples/index.html
#2 Now that I have that issue solved, I'm attempting to find out from MacWorld, why when I attempt to edit my post to clarify my comment, I get a message saying "UNAUTHORIZED".

OK, next question. I have already downloaded Google Earth and an app.
Does the plugin work with the app or replace it?

to amazme1 - I am amazed that even a Macintosh user writes "MAC" - an obvious acronym (all caps) when they mean to write Mac. What is wrong with people and their grammar today??

I've downloaded the plug in, and installed it, and restarted my browser (Camino). Where is the Google Earth Plug in?
