AOL Radio is free and does pretty much the same thing.

(1) AOL Radio does not do anything like these programs at all. It has a very limited inventory of streams.
(2) Tuner, on the other hand, does. I've been using to stream WFMU for a while. I wish the article briefly looked at some of the other radio apps.

Although not very user friendly for initial setup, FStream works well for listening and is free and lets me access MP3 streams and I use it for my local NPR station.
You need to locate the URL info on your own to set it up. After that, it is click and play. I have often used it without wifi also.

I was thinking the same thing. Tuner is a nice program and it is half the price.

Hey Chris, if you ain't doin' nothing how about a iPhone Radio Round-up.

A round-up would be a great idea, because NormSoft just released Pocket Tunes for iPhone. It was the best radio app for the Palm Treo, so I expect a lot.

I dunno, I just bought WunderRadio which answered a lot of my beefs with ill-implemented iPhone radio apps. The app adds mms support, which means I can now stream many radio stations I couldn't get before (Phil Hendrie, KERN-1410, Tiger Financial News, Bloomberg, etc).
As far as stability, it's worked great over my wi-fi connection: we'll see how it goes with EDGE, but so far, I'm impressed. Won't be using Tuner, etc. any more.

As an update, Wunder Radio doesn't seem to offer reliable search functionality on the iPhone, e.g. I enter in a station call sign or letters that SHOULD be supported by Wunder Radio (per the on-line Wunder Radio web-based interface, which is linked above), and it gives no hits (or even an error message) when Wunder Radio fails to find the station. Also, searches by artist or content often fail to work, too. So they clearly need to update their database and fix search functionality at this point. But like I say, getting mms functionality (in lieu of flash support) is what I've been waiting for. All I want is a radio app that offers a simple solution. I don't know why on-line radio needs to be so freaking complicated!
As an aside, I cannot figure out for the life of me how to integrate some of these radio streams with Audio Hijack Pro. Does AHP support Javascript? Their on-line manual doesn't explain it, if it does....

By my reckoning it plays a few hundred radio streams of a wide variety of formats, which is both similar to the other programs and not terribly limited. And, it's been free from day one.

Tuner is nice for those who find it useful. But the vast majority of people do not need thousands of stations to choose from, and finding one in particular may not be worth paying $10 for an app. AOL Radio has a nice selection of stations in all musical formats, each of which has deep, well-crafted playlists.

You sure? There is a link through Rogue Amoebas' Radioshift Touch site.

http://rogueamoeba.c...adioshifttouch/

There is a link on the Radioshift Touch page that takes one right to the iTunes Apps Store page for the software.

Can't seem to do a iTunes Store search for it now. The store is getting hammered with the Music Store announcements and all.

Thanks for reiterating the link. I had been searching for it through the App Store for a couple days (even before Macworld) and having it not show up. I even tried searching on the term "Rogue Amoeba" with no luck. After I got your response, it seemed to magically reappear
