I wouldn't bank on apple coming up with anything for the home market, especially since they've also dumped making RAID devices for the enterprise market.

I don't see how the two are connected. Maintaining a 14-Bay Fibre Channel RAID system is a far cry from developing a simple home NAS. There doesn't seem to be a logical connection between extrapolating Apple's actions in the business sector with that of their actions for home.

The server does have 4 USB ports you could chain several cheaper external drives to backup your server.

Jason,

I purchased the EX 487, installed with no problems on the PC but I am now stuck trying to installit on the Mac.

On the Mac, the software wil not recognize the Server name or password that I use to log on from the PC. I keep getting the "Validation Error" message. The same server name and password works perfectly well with the PC.

Can you help?

Thanks

Guy
