No, this article did not say that. They were referring to other dual processors when they mentioned the 2.53GHz speed.

There does seem to be a QX9300 processor that is quad core and does go as fast as 2.53GHz.

uhhh.... exclusive Mac CPU supplier maybe, but definitely not "chip"

A long time. What OS does the iPhone run? Oh, yeah... OS X. There is no way they could have spent the money to develop that OS for just a phone. They are positioned very well developing basically one OS with several derivatives for different hardware (computers, iPhones/iPods, AppleTV, etc.).
