A bigger question might be whether Khalid Shaikh (or Apple on his behalf) will be getting a letter from Creators Syndicate's lawyers. The comic is copyrighted and newspapers generally have to pay to publish it. So creating a paid application that lifts the strip from an online source and redistributes it wouldn't exactly be legal. Of course it's quite possible that Khalid is paying the syndicate fees and that explains the $5 cost. But I doubt it...
