No tablets or laptops or netbooks. Sorry yall. A larger yet pocketable iPod Touch will be the next big thing. A Mac that we keep with us anywhere, anytime. Just like a wallet.
Also, no one will have to buy more than one Mac. The “MacTROU” (for The Rest of Us) will be untethered, like the Kindle, using EVDO. And a hundred times better than the Kindle, this gizmo will connect to ALL our files on MobileMe.
Apple can charge whatever it needs to for the MacTROU, for the connectivity, and for a subscription to MobileMe. And it can collect for purchases of software, books, audio, video, whatever, which can then reside on MobileMe, always available to the MacTROU user.
Imagine what this anywhere, anytime Mac can feature as services! And all of these revenue flows can go directly to Apple. ATT need not apply.
It’s all about selling solutions, not simply gizmos. If Apple plays its cards right, it can replace the wallet as well as the credit cards in it.

You shouldn't be in any rush to embrace blue ray drives when they finally appear. We all know that it'll be just like with CD's and DVD's. They drag it out by starting with a 2 x, then a 4x, then an 8x etc, etc, etc. Also keep in mind too that burning to blue rays will probably take forever because of the large amounts of data being saved. I predict that Blue ray will fail because of this and the fact that hard drives are so plentifully cheap to buy now.

OF course, just about everything here was wrong...
The article was about the forecast for the year 2009, not the Macworld Expo. But as far as that goes, Applecrate was spot on.
I still think Apple will likely focus on a couple or few mid-range, lower cost products through the year.

Is there any way that Apple could make a seriously needed change to iTunes? In the info tab, you cannot delete contacts. You can delete them on you iPhone, but once synced, it puts the same ones on again. I believe the iTunes program could be much better with this type of update. I'm sure these smart guys could figure out how to do it.
