Your link to Picasa doesn't work for me. You should change it to:
http://picasa.google.com
and the /mac/ will be added automatically.

Your "reporters" might want to a little research before adding their names to someone else's press release. Picassa for Mac has been available for over a year. I've been running it on a G4 laptop in Tiger.

I have to agree. This isn't the first app I've seen that isn't a universal binary. It's possible that Google is using some Intel extensions, but I think there are enough PowerPC users out there to warrant having to support both systems.

I hope this isn't a trend.

Interface looks meh. Like a lame Windows port.
Shame, really...

Because the libraries that Picasa uses are built around the Intel processor, and that after the release of 10.6 Apple is no longer going to support PPC. If you have not upgraded to the Intel platform now would be a good time to do so.

Bizarrely, the web site denies it exists for me... Maybe it's only released for the US?
Hopefully, they'll opensource this on code.google.com, so we can fix this 'Intel-only' thing...

This is good news for the Mac and will encourage more switchers. Picasa is a good piece of software; a useful counterpoint to iPhoto.

Link is now fixed.

And by "now," I mean several seconds after now.

The link only gives me the picture uploader, not the program itself.

this is the web picasa uploader app, it's not an app that runs on osx locally.. at least that's the app that gets downloaded from the link provided.

Malingerer: The same for me. The uploader.
Where do you use the app itself. On the web.
