Where do the 30c go? As the music has alreay been paid for, I guess it's all going to Apple's pockets (Just a guess, if someone knows better, jus tell me^^)
Well I'd say nice move Apple I recognize you well.
But again, a good Apple's consumer is rich so the 30c shouldn't a problem.

I'm sure there are costs involved in resampling all the music to 256 kbps AAC without Apple's Plays For Sure DRM. And I expect the work is being done primarily by the music companies themselves, and that they would not undertake such a massive project without some promise of compensation. Then there's the expense of rejiggering the iTunes Store to list and serve all the resampled music. While I may cringe at paying extra for songs I've already bought, there is a reasonable cost involved in providing me with the new versions. There's no free lunch.
