Uh..all these features are great..but it doesn't change the fact that there is still NO TIMELINE.
Did they bring the TIMELINE BACK?!?!?!
No..I guess not!!!
I still need to view where I’m editing on the TIMELINE!!! I need to see the levels of my audio track with the fades up and down. How do I know what Time constraints I'm working in???
Why can’t they build in an “alternate view” for those of us who still use iMovie HD because it has a friggin TIMELINE!!!!!!
THAT WAS THE BIG COMPLAINT about iMovie 08
Where is the friggin TIMELINE????????

I totally agree -- the timeline is a nice, simple view that shows you what's in you project. I hate the new paradigm of a "wraparound" view of the active contents of your movie. I just find it counterintuitive and confusing -- especially when the thumbnails are weirdly repetitive instead of just showing you where your edits are.
I also hate how when iMovie 09 starts up, it spends FOREVER scanning through your iPhoto library for Quicktime clips to load into its browser. I'm perfectly capable of looking for clips myself and bringing them in when necessary instead of having the iMovie interface all cluttered up with every clip I MIGHT want to possibly use.
I'll give 09 a chance, but so far, I'm not really finding much to make me want to use it over the old HD version with the proper timeline and the less cluttered interface.
