I agree. I haven't attended a MacWorld yet, but I am planning, or going to try, to go next year, 2010. The fact that Apple will not be there is not enough to ward me off, I would love to meet fellow Mac users and bloggers that I have a common interest in. And I would just love to meet all the twitter friends I've gained that will most likely be there.
It's not Apple that makes MacWorld, it is the community.

Travel funds are usually the first expenses to be cut when the economy is bad. So perhaps Macworld Expo could be blended somehow with the Consumer Electronic Show CES.

This just in: Gates has retired from the company. All those stories were told ages ago.

The biggest thing I see at MW Expo that's not in any store is the developers. Stellar, instant tech support and a chance to bend the Right Guy's ear regarding what I really want in their app.
