"Mac users should just switch the default RSS reader from Safari in Safari’s Preferences -> RSS panel."
Should switch the RSS reader from Safari to WHAT?
Should switch the RSS reader from Safari to WHAT?
Anything at all. As long as it's not Safari. You can download another client like the free NetNewsWire or Vienna, or if you've got Leopard, you can switch to Mail.

I don't mean to be rude, arelny, but the reply Dan gave ("anything at all") was clearly implied (though you're right, not directly stated).
The wording was "just switch the default RSS reader from Safari"; since the vulnerability is described as existing because the default RSS Reader in the Safari app is Safari, it would only make sense that it simply needs to be switched from Safari to anything other than itself.

No offense taken, Dave. It's just that overall, people have disparate levels of understanding about these things, and some of us would prefer a more specific course of action. It would've been very easy to reword that sentence to recommend changing the RSS default to another browser or Mail, and everybody's needs would've been served.

It is not a matter of understanding. Rather, it's a matter of READING the article!! In this case, the article states: "You can change it to anything you like, whether it be a free client such as NetNewsWire or Vienna; if you're running Leopard, you can even change it to Mail." How much clearer can you get?

Point taken. I know a lot about people. Unless you are sight-impaired, you have no excuse in not reading the article before posting your complaint. Enough said.
To be fair, I updated the article after the original comment in order to make the workaround clearer. So, in other words, blame me! Blame me!
