I should read 15,000 apps, with only about 500 good ones. They've approved a lot of horse crap apps.
I mean there are some REALLY REALLY lame ones on there. A majority of them are crap.
I can name a select few that are decent, most are by Apple, then there is Shazam, and some of the games. The one listed in the advertisement screen (Asphalt Racing) is the buggiest piece of crap ever.

The adage goes: You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Yet, most of the blogs re Apple's release of the iPhone SDK's NDA and its subsequent exclusion or removal of a couple of iPhone apps demanded such.
So Apple takes off the reins off, but only to be chastised once again.
I guess the adage should have been changed to: You can have your crappy cake and eat it too.

Macalways:
I've NEVER wanted the NDA lifted or free reign on app development. We were one of the companies that worked our ass off to comply with user interface guidelines. And now any idiot that can pay $99 for a development kit can put a diaper full of crap on the app store.
I liked it better when it was a tight ship because now even if a good app comes out, you have to sift through 9500 piles of crap to find it!
I NEVER wanted it opened this much.

I agree.
I voiced my concerns a long time ago. Particularly Macworld's position that I contend was just another nail in the head why Apple finally pulled out of their annual conference.
As I have said before, "To continually dis your guest, eventually, they won't come back.
